Reece Terris garners prestigious award for Vancouver Art Gallery The VAG was one of ten recipients of The Imperial Tobacco Canada Foundation's inaugural New Creation in the Arts awards for its presentation of Ought Apartment by Commercial Drive neighbourhood artist Reece Terris. The Gallery commissioned Reece to create this work as the ninth project in NEXT: A series of artists projects from the Pacific Rim. Italian Motorcycle Club
The Italian Motorcycle Club has some of the best Italian motorcycles you'll find anywhere. You'll occasionally find this collection parked curb-side in front of Café Calabria, just south of 1st Avenue. A similarly impressive fleet of motor scooters is often found curb-side in front of Continental Coffee, just across the street at 2nd Avenue. Just 2 of the popular meeting spots on the Drive for Vancouver's 2-wheel motor-heads! Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Bimota, Cagiva, Laverda, Vespas — pretty impressive.
First BIA in Vancouver to host a Foodbank Fundraiser
Commercial Drive BIA raises $2,500 for the Vancouver Food Bank! What a great, caring neighbourhood! Our Foodbank fundraiser at Federico’s Supper Club on Commercial Drive resulted in a $2,500 donation to the Vancouver Foodbank. Because of the purchasing power of the Vancouver Foodbank, that $2,500 mushrooms into $7,500 worth of food purchases.
