Since 2003, The Kettle Society has proudly participated in the Eastside Culture Crawl through its large-scale art exhibition, Art Against Stigma. Each year, the Society transforms one of its community service spaces—most recently The Recovery Café at 620 Clark Drive—into a gallery that spans from floor to ceiling, showcasing artwork created by individuals with lived experience of mental illness.
This gallery-style art show and sale features hundreds of pieces by more than 50 local artists who have experience living with a mental health challenge, all available for purchase with 100% of proceeds going directly to the artists. By giving creators full ownership over their work and earnings, The Kettle Society is proud to return every dollar of each sale to the artist.
The purpose of Art Against Stigma is to challenge misconceptions and foster understanding around mental illness through creativity and community connection. As part of the 2025 Eastside Culture Crawl, the exhibition will also include an opening evening reception on November 20 from 5:30–6:00 p.m., featuring a special performance by The Kettle Choir.
