MEET THE TALENT

JOHNNY PERROTTA

Johnny Perrotta is a charismatic storyteller, actor and writer whose down-to-earth humour and larger-than-life stories have made him a favourite with audiences across North America. A Vancouver-based touring headliner, Johnny has shared the stage with comedy greats including Robin Williams, Ron Funches and Jay Pharoah. His screen credits include Supergirl, The X-Files, ABC’s The Crossing and Italian Family Christmas with Beau Bridges, as well as playing Angelo “Quack Quack” Ruggiero in The Victoria Gotti Story. With blue-collar roots, quick wit and a gift for turning everyday life into outrageous stories, John knows how to get a room laughing.

CHRIS GRIFFIN

Chris Griffin has built a reputation as one of Canada’s most dynamic comedic storytellers, turning his wildest life experiences into the kind of stories you can’t believe are true. A winner of the Vancouver Comedy Competition and finalist at the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, Chris has appeared at Just For Laughs Vancouver for ten consecutive years and earned two Vancouver Comedy Awards. He’s shared the stage with comedy heavyweights including Norm MacDonald, Tom Papa, Mark Normand and Fortune Feimster, and recently hosted for John Mulaney, Mike Birbiglia, Fred Armisen and Nick Kroll. His full-length special Words Have Consequences is available through 800 Pound Gorilla Media.

YUMI NAGASHIMA

Tokyo-born, Vancouver-based comedian Yumi Nagashima has been winning over audiences with her unmistakably dry, intimate and slightly dark style of comedy since 2015. One of Canada’s most distinctive comedic voices, Yumi has appeared on Comedy Central Asia and CBC’s The Debaters, along with comedy festivals and stages across Canada and beyond. Her popular YouTube channel, Yumi Tube, has attracted a global following of nearly 170,000 subscribers. Drawing humour from cultural differences, relationships and her experiences building a life in Canada, Yumi delivers sharp observations with an understated style that makes the punchlines hit even harder.

GIO RIZZ

Gio Rizz is a Vancouver-based comedian, producer, husband and new father — which means he has no shortage of material. The producer behind Unfiltered Comedy, Gio has become a familiar face on Vancouver’s comedy scene, performing at Underground Comedy Club, Yuk Yuk’s and House of Comedy, while becoming a mainstay at The Comedy Ring. His edgy, unfiltered style finds the funny in marriage, fatherhood, family dynamics and his Italian upbringing. Brutally honest and never afraid to go there, Gio has a knack for saying exactly what everyone else in the room is thinking — including the things they probably know better than to say out loud.
