It’s been a standout year for Commercial Drive favourite Lunch Lady.
After taking home three first-place honours in the 2026 Georgia Straight Golden Plates Awards—including Best Casual Restaurant, Best Vietnamese Restaurant, and Best Restaurant on Commercial Drive—the beloved neighbourhood restaurant has now been featured in a dedicated Georgia Straight story celebrating its remarkable journey.
The feature explores the lasting legacy of founder Nguyễn Thị Thanh, whose passion and generosity continue to shape the restaurant, while highlighting Lunch Lady’s continued growth from its home on Commercial Drive to new locations in Toronto and, soon, Manila.
